The first of this years new crop to bite the dust is ABC’s Lucky 7. As it happens, the set for Lucky 7 is just outside of Craft Truck’s office.
For the past several months the way to work has been a daily reminder of the new show. The set went up fast. Carpenters, painters, production design, the whole nine yards. It unfolded just outside. Which is always fun to be reminded why we’re in the business in the first place. A little magic sprinkled daily.
And then they blocked off the road for a day while they filmed their “street party”. And as usual, only a handful of shows survive. Lucky 7 didn’t…
… and now the set is a ghost town (well, to be fair, it’s a Saturday and it’s rainy) — but, come Monday, there ain’t gonna be much more movement on this set until the next show comes in and uses this set for something else. Unless they tear it down.
Until the next show comes to town (across the street).
